Which service is right for my organisation?

With employee/organisational well-being support, it can be difficult to know where to start. At Systemisk Psychology we understand that different organisations have unique internal parameters in terms of time availability, budget and other constraints.  Whatever your situation, all services offered by Systemisk are preceded by a free, no obligation needs consultation. This is designed to ensure that we fully understand your requirements and can be confident that the services we provide are tailored to your organisational need

Perhaps you recognise there is a particular challenge you are facing with certain aspects of your population or client group? Or that you would like to support individual employees struggling with more complex issues? To help you explore which options might be best for you, Systemisk have put together a range of offerings. These are designed to act as a starting point for our discussions, and in all cases, can be developed and adapted for your individual requirements. We are keen to work with you to find a practical and pragmatic psychological support programme that works for your organisation.

Bitesize sessions

We appreciate that it can be very challenging to make time for well-being activities, but we believe we can provide meaningful support for your staff, even in a short amount of time. Our bitesize sessions are ideal to hold for groups as a short breakout session, or even as a lunch and learn. Some example topics we cover include:

Case study

Systemisk Psychology worked with a senior management team who had significant operational and logistical responsibilities that resulted in a high intensity working environment. We provided a day long training session to help the team develop practical skills they could implement within the constraints of a demanding role. This included value’s based activities to help identify shared purpose across the team. We also introduced and practiced key assertiveness skills within the context of challenging managerial interactions.

The team was provided with easy to implement skills that would allow them to respond in an intense emotional context, and to self-regulate in high-pressured situations. Crucially, this included pragmatic skills that could be implemented in 2-5 minutes, as these individuals did not always have the opportunity to remove themselves from a situation, or take breaks at arbitrary times in the working day.

Participants commented that they appreciated being told about the science behind the methodology, as the Systemisk psychologist was able to condense complex scientific principles into digestible, relatable information that was easy for the individuals to understand and implement. Participants also appreciated that the skills they were taught would work within the specific context of their job, providing memorable takeaways they could put into practice straight away.

Psychological support sessions

Systemisk Psychology provides psychological support sessions to help employees to respond effectively to the demands of their role without compromising their mental or physical health. We will equip staff with practical strategies and the tools they need to thrive in the workplace.

There is a myth that psychological support is a response to something having ‘gone wrong’. This is not the view that Systemisk Psychology take. We recognise that psychological support sessions allow organisations to invest in their work force, and ensure that passionate, capable and valued members of the team remain committed to their roles.

It may be that you have members of your team engaged in particularly challenging areas of work, or staff who have recently taken on, or hope to take on new or more varied responsibilities. Within our needs consultation we will work with you to design a support package that suits the requirements of your team. As with all our services all our offers are designed to be responsive to organisational constraints in terms of budget and time resource.

Psychological support sessions can be offered in person, online, or as a hybrid model, and can be delivered on an individual or small group basis.

Group size: individual session/ small groups

Duration: 1 hour

Prices from £150 per session

Case Study 1

Issue: A person in a middle management position who experienced feelings of anxiety and emotional overwhelm, which impacted on workplace progression. They had defaulted to ‘holding back’ from work related opportunities for fear of underperforming.

Systemisk solution: Psychological Support sessions aimed at providing the person with a supportive space to explore how their anxiety functions. An introduction to a range of evidence based, practical skills, enabling the person to do more of “what matters” even in the presence of anxiety.

Case Study 2

Issue: A person who was aiming for a promotion at work, but felt they were lacking direction, and confidence, and didn’t know how to make the necessary steps to address these challenges. In conflict situations, this individual felt they couldn’t present themselves in a way that accurately reflected their skill-set,

Systemisk solution: Psychological support sessions which aimed to support the person to develop a broader behavioural repertoire that enabled them to respond more effectively when experiencing self-doubt. An emphasis on key skills in assertiveness and values based problem solving that allowed the person to respond more effectively to new opportunities

Psychoeducational videos

In addition to face to face or remote training, Systemisk can work with you to provide psychoeducational videos or resources. These would be created specifically for your organisation on topics relevant to your workforce or customers. The resources would be retained by your company for use in ongoing training.

Some examples of resources Systemisk has created for clients in the past include:

  • Psychoeducational videos for use by an animal behaviourist company to support the understanding of human behaviour in the application of animal behaviour advice. Key topics included responding effectively to feelings of shame and guilt, and working with grief.

  • Webinar workshops for educational providers to share with parents and staff. Topics included ‘Adolescent Brain Development; why the big feelings really happen’ and ‘Application of a Rupture-Repair model in school behavioural management processes’

  • 10 minute ‘toolkit talk’ wellbeing briefing videos that were shared across a construction company.
